Thick plate forming process

Vacuum forming
What is Vacuum Forming?

Vacuum forming is a more cost-effective thermoforming process, heating a piece of thermoplastic material to soften, of course, each thermoplastic material softening temperature are different, for example, polystyrene (Polystyrene referred to as PS) softening temperature range is 127 to 182 degrees Celsius (261 to 360 degrees Fahrenheit), while polypropylene (Polypropylene PP) softening temperature range of 143 to 165 degrees Celsius (289 to 329 degrees Fahrenheit), and some materials such as impact polystyrene (High Impact Polystyrene referred to as HIPS) Has a great softening and forming temperature range, these materials are easier to use thermoforming process molding.

Forming principle

In stage 1, the plate is heated first. Stage 2. The softened plastic sheet is first blown into the air so that it is bubbly shaped so that the material is stretched evenly before molding. In stage three, the air flows in the opposite direction (vacuuming) , The top of the mold to the workpiece, the use of a strong vacuum suction traction and the workpiece along the shape of the mold shape.Step four with the strong air to the finished product out.

Die. Plate. Use

In the vacuum forming the general common materials are ABS.PS.PC.PE.PVC.PET.PMMA .... And so on. With the different materials. Molding conditions will be different.
Mold part is generally divided into wood mold. Tree finger mold. Aluminum mold. Can be used when making wood mold. Small production with the tree means mold.
